African Blogging industry is very toxic

“The Nigerian blogging industry is very toxic”  that was the statement of One of Nigerian leading Niche blogger, Remedy Nwankwo,

The blogger took to his Facebook platform to share some lights about this particular statement of his, read below what he had to say

Every big name is in fear, hiding knowledge, results and walking on egg shells.

No collaborations, no partnerships, no coming together, just tantrums and rancors everywhere.

I decided to address some of these anomalies today and it will be my last time discussing it.

It’s not about me though, I’m just a small guy doing his best in the grand scheme of things. I am all right on my own.

It’s more about our collective good on a larger industry scale.

The Nigerian bloggers group shouldn’t be a meme and caricature platform.

It should never be a platform for traducing and trashing our best hands in the industry.

Stop making bashing, insults and hatred seem fashionable.  We can never grow in that route.

And stop telling me you have no hand in it, you aide it, you provide platform for it.

Every war is sponsored, directly or indirectly.

Let’s engage in intelligent and growth driven conversations and partnerships that help us all grow.

Share ideas and fly together, for the sky is big enough for all of us to fly.

If you’re an admin or you hold a position of authority, you have a duty on your shoulders.

A duty not to allow your platform become messed up, a duty to do things in the best interest of our industry.

I survived the litany and barrage of attacks launched against me because I had grown above that platform even before I came to limelight.

But what about the next guys?

How about the next small boy or girl working so hard to make a name for themselves and you use your platform to crush them.

Aren’t you ashamed of what your platform has become?

Yet, you ignorantly put up a defense just out of ego.

How exactly are you encouraging our industry by growing a very toxic space that cajole and mock our best hands?

That will never encourage people to share what they know.

I have a lot of close friends on this table. People who know so much about blogging but will never share anything because of the fears of being traduced.

Today, I’m making this post for young ones in the industry, for the faint at heart.

That they never allow the fear of being attacked to stop them.

That they never allow fears of being vilified stop them from shinning their lights.

You needn’t be perfect in life, no one is.

You needn’t know everything about blogging to talk about it, no one knows everything about blogging.

You needn’t be an Seo guru to make money or name for yourself, follow your path.

As you follow your path, let your light shine amongst men that they may see it and glorify your father in heaven.

For you are the light of the world, not the light of your room or village.

I hope someone is encouraged today.

I hope someone catches the light and run with it against all odds.

And if they come for you too as they would try to, this is me in this picture teaching you to relax and drink water, it will pass!

All the things they said I couldn’t do, I have done them and added jara.

All the records they set, I have broken them.

All the barriers set against me, I have crushed.

You too can, and even do better than I did.

I wish you well today and always!

This is my very last word on this matter, those concerned may decide to change or continue in their toxicity.

With love❤️

Zaddy of Abuja.

The word “kwechiri” isn’t a mere slogan to me.

The word “kwechiri” isn’t a mere slogan to me. It’s a principle I adopted many years ago and it’s been magical. The idea of starting a good thing and fighting consistently, against all odds, to succeed at it. This is what most of us need this year. To kwechiri enough in whatever we’re doing. To know that you’ve learnt and waited long enough without taking action. To finally begin the journey and to keep at it. To know that it may be difficult and you may fail momentarily but it’s possible.  That all you desire to accomplish are possible. I remember when I created my first blog in 2017, it wasn’t funny. I blogged for almost a year without earning a paltry $100. I got to the Nigerian Law School same year, I continued to blog, despite the strenuous work load.  Nothing meaningful was coming and it felt like I was wasting my time. I graduated and was called to the Nigerian Bar, I kept on blogging. During Nysc, I blogged all the way. No weavering, no pauses, no retreats. I was...
