 HEALTH  AND SAFETY 

These are measure and procedure to prevent injury in workshop .they are simply measure put in place to prevent workshops accidents 

         ACCIDENTS 

Maybe be described as events or action that is uncontrolled, natural and unplanned that can cause injury. 

It can be caused by an unidentified hazard or neglected unknown impending danger in the workshop 

But if a possible source of accident (hazard) is spot in time .it can be controlled even maintain before the accident. These  accident may be in a place by human error or some case by careless.

Our environment can be a source of hazard if these hazard are not discovered and completely eliminated it causes accident and causes injury on the unsuspected people. 

     The injury could be physical or psychological of course it can be fatal or minor. Injury can be classified as fatal when the damage done to the victim is total physical and mental Breakdown which in turn renders the victims body parts "functionally inept"

         A fatal injury ,the affected parts is permanently damaged and cannot be treated or cure 

    A minor injury can be treated and reversed after the accidents.                                                                                                                           CAUSES OF ACCIDENT 

Accident investigation have shown that accident is causes by some factors Although there are two main causes which are 

1. Unsafe act

2.unsafe environment/conditions 

Some of the treats or hazard that causes accident may not be omitted even when you avoid other treats that appear on the surface. 

Accident  could be caused by neglect or error on the part of the worker or personnel .it can also causes architectural errors in a work place,on other hand, it can be lack of maintenance of the environment. 

UNSAFE ACT are a behavioristic act is an act by personnel at work place that are capable causes accident to occur. 

  THE MOST COMMON UNSAFE ACT ARE LISTED AS FOLLOWS 

 1. Horse play 

 2. Neglect of warning sign of an impending danger 

3. Inaction/action of personnel in a work place to maintain appropriate houses keeper 

4. Make use of faulty tools and machine 

5. Neglect  of safety wear and measure. 

6. In most cases worker do not known that their Inaction/action may lead to accident. These may a raise from lack of training communication gap

7. Absent of motivation from the side of worker can also be a contributing factor that aids that occur 

8. Lack of incentify and non-payment of salary could be a major source, destabilization on the worker which may in turn affect their sense of judgment and performance when carrying out their duties 

     UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS 

These factors has to do with the condition of the environment, they can be created by the Inaction/action of workplace personnel. 

Examples. 

1. Poorly design infrastructure,machine, tools and equipment 

2. Insufficient provisions of safety infrastructure 

3. Inability or failure to enforce safety rule

4. Lack of safety devices 

5. Over looking an existing hazard. 

   

Poor mental condition could also be a contributing factors

1. Lack of emotional stability 

2. Lack of coordination 

3. Family problems 

4. Absent of safety training 

  

    ACCIDENT CONTROL STEPS

is considered as a miscarriage in the system network causes by unwanted efforts of management, the employees in the system or equipment in uses.

Accident control steps are enquire to be accompany by the worker and maintenance performing hardcore jobs

1. Supervise safety performance that includes identity failure 

2. Having adequate knowledge of safety rules 

3. Proper job placement, these is one of the main factors that eliminating hazard before the develop into an accident 

4. Safety program for the workers

5. Maintenance of safe working conditions

6. Mental condition of the employee
